Afternoon Group (ADULTS): 1:30 to 4:30 Saturday and 1:00 to 4:00 Sunday

Two-Day Workshop: $195

For 20 years, Award Winning Casting Director Ty Harman has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from drama and comedy series and pilots to features and miniseries. AP Bio (NBC Mid- Season 2018), Generation Kill (HBO) and Warehouse 13 (Syfy) are some of the primetime programming Ty has worked on. Kids series have included K.C. Undercover, Liv & Maddie, Shake It Up, Crash & Bernstein and the Emmy Award Winning School of Rock.

For this event, Ty will share his experience in television, delving into the world of episodic and pilot casting. This will be a conversation about the business side of acting, preparing and researching for roles, audition techniques, finding confidence and making choices, work ethics, keeping busy and creating original content, maintaining relationships, what to expect and how to prepare for episodic and pilot season, pitfalls to avoid, what do after booking a job, and much more. Also, we will cover the value of being word perfect, how to bring to life the writer’s intent while making it your own, and ways to transition great improvisation and theatre experience into the acting style of film and television. And, of course, questions are welcomed and encouraged.

Each session will start with warm ups and extensive exercise work and game playing to relax, engage and help each actor to begin to build a technique that can be used to put that actor’s unique stamp on the text being worked on during the scene work portion of class.

Scene work will consist of prepared one on one scenes with a reader to help better train for real world conditions. All work will be done in a supportive, classroom setting with other actors as the audience so that everyone can participate and learn from any adjustments or feedback. You will receive customized notes and feedback, and then run selected sections again to incorporate the educational instruction.
